The same goes for the people you meet and greet. Those that give you a glimpse of a foreign concept, an alien possibility. It is obvious to say that in life, people you meet, those you get to know, they come and go.
But what remains, what always affect us are the disappearing acts. Those who come along with an epiphany, an ideal but are always fleeting. It is like trying to grasp a flying dandelion.
That perfect combination of everything you want and the things you need has finally arrived. You allow yourself a moment of consideration and suddenly the magic leaves and you are left baffled.
Secret notes remain unopened, unacknowledged. The stream of warmth and giddiness became a cold shower. Just like an addict in withdrawal, we stumble searching, trying to retrieve what is left. Always attempting to make sense of what has come to pass.
Let me ask you this: why is it okay for some individuals to replicate this behavior? Don't they know how wrong it feels, haven't they also tasted the bitterness of such experience?
Unfortunately, the hurt is only felt by the caring. Us who remain, the undeserving, the hopefuls are still affected, wondering.
One day maybe, one may return. Offering apologies for the ungratefulness, a few futile words to justify something that should have never happened. God's will is to dictate what follows at this point and nothing you may say can change that.
However, for those who never come back, who never look back; know that one day, the one you may need to push you forward may not be there for you when you stumble.
